Carulli - Op 241 No 1 - Waltz in C - 4K HDR

The first of Carulli’s “Morceaux Progressifs” is a waltz in 6/8 time. While a technically easy piece, I took the liberty of: a) playing the ending notes up the neck, to clarify them, b) changing the dynamics (crescendo/descend) to give the phrasing more emotion and c) playing the second part at the bridge to imitate the lute (that part felt rather Renaissance).

Choose the “HDR” setting if you have an HDR compatible device. If your device is not able to display HDR, YouTube will convert it to an SDR signal, which may appear darker.

This was recorded in front of the Saco River in Maine. The flowers were so beautiful the day before that I decided this would be an ideal location. I always perform better with an audience and I was able to record this in one take. Right before filming, a young lady taking senior pictures appeared with her photographer. I offered to wait, but she said I was there first and also wanted to hear the music; I’m happy I was able to make her day even more memorable. Then, a family of six—baby carriage and all—appeared at the top of the hill to watch!

Your such a great musician, and thanks for supporting my channel! The sound quality is really good, (Probably because of your Blue Yeti?) and the background is picture perfect!
