Allegri's Miserere Mei Deus

Gregorio Miserere composed this beautiful piece to be sung only at the Sistine Chapel in Rome. Legend has it that a young Wolfgang Mozart heard the piece, and then wrote it out from memory for other choirs to sing, but this is probably not true, as the piece was known to have been sung in London before Mozart was born. Allegri uses 2 choirs, one of 5 voices and one of 4 voices who take it in turn to sing verses, interspersed with plainchant, the 2 choirs then come together for the final section. This is my arrangement for 9 violins.
