My mum did her entire wedding on about $10, 000. She got a cheaper wedding dress that still looked amazing (but wasn't as good quality wise) and had it altered by a friend of hers. We got our hair and makeup done by someone who use to work as a hair stylist and beauty therapist, and all they wanted was an invite to the wedding and a couple hundred bucks thrown their way. My boyfriend (trainee photographer at the time) did all the wedding photos. All the food was cooked by us, including the wedding cake, which was done by my brother who is an experienced baker and cake decorator. Decorations were bought online for cheap, but still looked amazing when all set up. The biggest expense was venue hire, food, and alcohol.

My parents got married at an park during the summer yrs ago by an wonderful fountain and had an amazing garden around it. All they did was have their reception at an local community centre and they had an buffet style and they had tickets for guest and their drinks with an limit of two drinks each anything after that you paid for yourself.

$500 for the Venue & $800 - on the low end - for the photographer… your family or friends would take that offer, before an actual location or professional photographer would 😆🥴
$39-$125 for a wedding dress? You could pay $125 on the lower end for a BRIDESMAID dress, lol. Otherwise the quality of a wedding dress around that price would likely be crap, because there would be no profit. That would be like the out the door cost for the designer to buy the materials to make that dress - on the low end…
