This webinar, held on 19 July 2023, provided a unique opportunity to explore the multifaceted role of Indigenous knowledge and practices in combatting climate change and its impacts. It explored addressing the impacts of climate change using an Indigenous lens; Indigenous models for the circular economy, and building climate resilience, identify lessons learned and best practices.

This workshop discussed:

• How to integrate Indigenous knowledge so it can contribute, to improve decision-making and policy actions on climate action?
• Adaptation to new conditions requires financial resources, public and private sector support, and technological capacity – factors that Indigenous communities may not always possess. What steps should be undertaken to provide Indigenous communities with more support?
• How to create opportunities for considering Indigenous peoples’ expertise and knowledge?
• Challenges may be global, but solutions need to be local. How to facilitate work on climate action at national, regional, and local levels?
• Bring the Indigenous voice to the table for climate negotiations and discussions. What innovative ways should be considered to address the challenges of participation and meaningful engagement?
