what the other end of needle threader is used for?

Eh...
I have watched this several times by now, but I still don't know what's happening.
1. Needle in the holder. Ok
2. The thread over the needle. Ok
3. The thread is looped in some strange way. Not Ok
4. Suddenly it's a loope through the eye. Not Ok

I need some further explanation to understand this.
