interesting example: using the word "literally" when you really mean "figuratively" isn't necessarily grammatically incorrect -- it's just another form of hyperbole! for example, if someone says "I'm literally starving, " they usually don't intend for the listener to think they're actually being literal. they're assuming the listener will pick up on the fact that the speaker is exaggerating for emphasis.
