I honestly felt like I was completely broken until I learned about C-PTSD.

My take on it, for me anyway, is that PTSD has a before, a lot of CPTSD grew up in it, there is no before.

There was so much going on in my childhood and early adulthood. Moving out from my parents house was very important to start the more difficult work in therapy.

it's a huge difference, but related to the same negative life experiences (recent in ptsd) .. or in cptsd early developmental negative events over time.
contrast of ptsd later in a reasonably OK life is a frightening prospect indeed.
But with. cptsd it's been scary and shamefilling for a lifetime, so ur kinda used to feeling miserable and like shit all along life's bumpy road.

The CPTSD I felt fitted me, hypervigilant, felt triggered, would avoid a location, people. But when I brought it up to my Psychiatrist, she said PTSD and CPTSD only applied to trafficking victims or people from a war zone . She made me feel small
