Hopefully military members will understand that the SCRA ensures a military parent's rights cannot be taken away because they are in the military!!! Do not let these "lawyers" to allow you to give up your rights!!! My rights were violated as the judgement against me for custody was based solely on my military service as stated by the judge!!! And of course my lawyer didn't have a clue about my protections. I did not know about the SCRA and my rights protection until years later (CHAPTER 50—SERVICEMEMBERS CIVIL RELIEF §3938. Child custody protection). Judges & lawyers should know better, but want the child support collection bonuses in their pay checks... shame on them!!!

Can a single military parent receive child support from an ex non-military spouse during a divorce?

Child support is one of those things that is named in a way to make people feel bad if they are against it. It is in fact a way to shift the burden of the welfare programs to higher income earning parents…. It has never been for the children see Blessing v Freestone
