I ran my pixel 3 xl into the ground. Got it for $600 and used it for 5 years. It did everything I asked and emulated up to gamecube flawlessly. I upgraded to the pixel 9 pro xl for again $600 and have zero complaints.

pixel phones had a lot of catching up to do at that time but now a days they are pretty even with the competition especially considering google has the biggest % of the phone made by them. Its easy for nothing to compete with midrangers when getting external parts but google makes more of the phone themselves than apple or samsung and is trying to compete with the best of the best and they are actually doing it with the 7 series they actually hit gold but became complacent and didn't inovate as much as the jumps from 5 to 6 and 6 to 7 but still did good and if they do one more big jump in quality they will actually surpass samsung and apple since they are behind only a little bit

Pixel phones are good. I am using a pixel 8 pro and literally its one of the best phones i have tried. These phones are almost imposssible to lag even if they have weaker specs. Cameras are also amazing. I fo agree that they lack behind in performance, but unless youre a gamer its easy to ignore.
