The "Cloud" option may have contributed to the vulnerability, but there is also a Descent Comm of Cal wanting access to all three systems on a single device instead of having to carry three. Clair said that it was possible to do that, but it would also allow for someone with access to one system to have access to the other systems if they figured it out as it was less secure.
It was one of the early Descent Comms, IIRC

Your videos are the only contact I still have with Div2 lore. I lost interest after the 56th refurbished location for manhunts and completely disconnected from lore the day Descent came out. I hope we get something new at some point

I remember in pervious comms.. maybe season 4.. not sure.. Cal and Nat are talking, Nat asks Cal which one of his agents in black tusk uniform.. That would explain it..
