- Don't rip or dirty your stockings
- Cross your feet at the ankles not the knee
- Don't wear a lot of jewelry, just a single row of pearls.

Those girls are training to be a lady like many did in the old days, but Lisa walking away from it and to be a new woman.

The repetition symbolised the training process and the "pain has come and gone... again".

I love the fact that so many idols who have been under the industry's thumb so to speak are forming their own companies to break out of their molds and do what they want. All in all I think Dave did pretty well.

I’d say the repetition of the first few shots it’s a commentary of the K-pop industry: people looking at magazines with her alter ego. There’s also four pairs of legs (Blackpink?). The being a doll at the centre, being touched and made up and ogled by men.

Rosalia is the older friend that helps her in the industry, the closeup of the phone, hang in there baby. And literally speaking from her mouth to their ear, rapping with affirming words to build her up.

Rosalias second chorus also changes the doubts of the first one, into affirmations of being changed.

Lisa and Rosalia are iconic and talented. Both are in billion Spotify club. The energy and attitude of both artists get along very well. They put it as story telling. Rosalia said she live for singing, not singing for living. Lisa said purple turn into gold, pain has come and gone again, You can learn from pain and turn it into experience for the success. The MV and song delivered in-depth message in transforming of New Woman. It is an inspiring song.

i think the message of new woman consists of two main things:
- lisa breaking out of standards, out of the mold that people want her to fit into. as another comment said, the scenes w the women crossing their legs & the apples dropping repeatedly is a reference to womens etiquette in the past. lisa isnt doing any of that, and i reckon she's the one stepping on the apple. if thats not the case then thats just symbolism for her breaking free from the standards that people hold to women.
- it seems to be a commentary on the kpop industry, as trainees (but in this case, female trainees) are expected to act and be a certain way. if they aren't feminine, skinny, and cute (to name a few), they are heavily criticized. that's not so much the case nowadays (a lot of knetz especially still hold women to those standards but a lot more people no longer do or just don't in general) but back when lisa was a trainee it def was. i think the shot of the glitter being shaven off is symbolic of her breaking out from the industry and reinventing herself and her image to display her true self. the repetitive scene, on top of representing womens etiquette, could also represent the industry where trainees do the same things over and over again so they can become good enough to debut. the lyric "pain has come and gone again" goes along w that, as trainees have to go through so much to debut. that lyric also represents the etiquette thing too since beauty and grace tend to result from pain and rituals.

So the scenes that are repeated are attached to a particular sound in the song. So the listener and viewer associates a particular sound with a visual. Which is brilliant

The repetition scenes in my opinion is about her group Blackpink and YG. Being in an idol group in Korea have to maintain a certain image. In YG they don't have the artistic freedom because they have to follow YG's formula so that's the repetitive scenes pertains to. Now Lisa is free when it comes to her solo activities so she is coming out of the mold. This song is about her journey as an artist coming from a group and now doing her own thing.

The meaning of these visuals could be interpreted in a lot of ways tbh and I think that's what makes this mv interesting. The repetitive scenes strangely doesn't irritate me cause all I think about is the message they want to deliver. The mv goes so well with the beats and lyrics.
