HOW I MAKE MY VIDEOS

For my indoor Youtube videos I currently use these tools that I feel give excellent results and a very simple workflow.
💻 Editing: Macbook Pro M2 with Final Cut Pro

For outdoor filming I prefer a small and simple setup that makes filming myself very easy and fast.

Hi Micael, love to hear that you found out that it is the process of making the photos that sits in your photographic hart; rather than a named version of what type of photography. I feel the same way. I love to do studio shoots and make great portraits; but i also love to walk trough town and see ... see what i think deserves a photo. Discover places and people. I do not give it a name other then photowalk. Greetings from Brussels.

That was another enjoyable walk around the town Micael. The B&W birds are my pick, but you wider fields are so opposite my own style that I find them refreshing. 🙂

I would say that when I do street photography, I fit in both categories. My goal is always to try to get captivating photographs of people, but I also photograph whatever I see that I think might be beautiful or interesting. Thanks, Micael.

Great video. Discussing what's street photography is, is an endless debate. Specially on the internet. Street photography is what yourself define what it is. Ignore those who tell you otherwise. Also because it doesn't matter what we call it. Street photography just sounds cooler than candid photography, snapshots or city photography 😊

I like your very reasonable approach to street photography. What I see is that some people wants it to be exclusive club, where you don't belong unless you take pictures like the best of the best.
Also I 100% agree with street photography encouraging exploring own city, I've got whole October off from work and sadly couldn't go visit other places, so I just walked around my city and discovered so much new places I didn't even knew they existed. And simply the fact of going out and not laying on a couch scrolling social media was a huge winner.
Next stop: astrophotography :D

I have stayed on that ship at 0:52, the "Mälardrottningen"😊. It is a quite nice hotel

I think you should look into m43 for your streetwork tbh. I also got pain when carrying around my A7II and without looking up the specs of weight and such I'm pretty sure they are around the same. I had the 24-105mm though for most my work. Since I switched to my OM-5 I haven't had any issues carrying the camera around for hours and hours. Also, that first dove shot is beautiful.

I shoot the same style of “street” photography that you enjoy (and you are doing very well at I might add). But I prefer to call it Streetscape or Urban Landscape. And yes, it’s all about getting in the zone, momentarily forgetting life’s many challenges, and exploring/documenting your environment. Enjoy!

Nice day for it! I never add anything to my photos, just some straightening and some cropping, never even used the vignetting.

You touched on getting more shots out of an hour or macro than an hour of street but tbh, from what I have seen on your IG account, the street photos are much better than the macro ones. Even this video had more photos that were really good vs the macro videos. Not saying your macro is bad at all but if this is the next genre you are excited to explore than I am excited to see the results.

Although I miss the macro photography, I really enjoy what you are doing. As for whether it's true street photography, I'm not sure, I think your approach is more akin to James Popsys as to true street photography, whatever the hell that is? I'm sure once you've taken this well deserved break from macro, you'll definitely get your mojo (hate that term) back for macro once spring comes back around. Keep up the great work, I for one really enjoy it 👍

Nice video. I like wandering around my city (Barcelona) with my camera and bicycle and discover it. But I feet in the second category. I would like to visit Stockholm specially in winter, maybe someday .... my wife says that´s too cold :(

Enjoyed the video. Have you tried night photography? I live on the west coast of Canada. It's often grey and wet here this time of year and it gets dark early. The city lights can be fun to photograph.

If you've not looked into William Eggleston, you definitely should.

Generally I like photos that look warm, but I find when there's fog w/o sun, snow, ice they look much better on the colder side, makes you feel like it's cold outside. For example the photo at 5:12 looks much better before the edit, than after, to me.
Even your video seems way too warm for me, the snow doesn't look white...
