Ontario Sen. Bernadette Clement received a threatening call following a 'wanted poster' tweet by Andrew Scheer claiming that she had shut down debate on legislation that would lift the carbon tax on natural gas or propane used by farmers to heat barns or dry grain. 'I didn't feel safe and I left my house,' she says.

WHO TF supports these taxes on farmers, assuming they're not the major ones...there are so many more legitimate, sensible and OBVIOUS sources of potential taxes. So ridiculous...

So tell us what the threat was. Saying you didn't feel safe is not a threat.

This Senator needs to do her job. Canadians deserve to criticize the Senators who are delaying or not passing what the commons voted for. Canadians are angry.

And I was always told that senators are wiser than the rest of us so they could be a source of sober reflection of government policy. Boy, was I wrong!

She didn't answer one question. I'm pretty sure she just made it clear. She lives in Cornwall Ontario. I'm pretty sure right now is she's very comfortable in her house in Cornwall, Ontario. I don't know how anybody watching this his can take her as being honest. Really, a wanted poster.
How can you not take That as a joke. The reporter looked like he was going to go after her. But I just don't think he had enough time.

People ARE angry about the government we've had to suffer for so long and the damage they've caused Canada. Can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Directing people to contact a Senator is normal politics. The response is ridiculous. The unelected Senate needs to be abolished. If the Senate is necessary it should be elected.

Directing constituents to contact a non-elected, non-accountable Senator at their office phone number is hardly "going too far".

Better yet, abolish the Senate or make it an elected body.

She is a public figure, she knew what the job entailed when she took it.She has no reason to cry foul as no laws were broken, and she could use the same tactic if she desired. What a joke

American style conservative irresponsible actions are not needed in Canada.
This leader minimizing threats as a normality shows his weakness at so many levels in communicating with his party members.
Canada is drifting towards two party politics. This must not happen.

She should reflect on how she treats bet she's not worried about paying her mortgage....

If that's going too far, we should just become a dictatorship where you can't criticize the governing party. What a cry baby.

So she is changing the narrative to suit her needs. She doesn't explicitly answer the question.

Canadians cannot tolerate the normalization of political violence or political threats.
We must hold our elected politicians accountable for encouraging such undemocratic behaviour.

Is Poilievre responsible for the way he speaks to Canadians, the media, women journalists? We are concerned about Trump setting fires. In Canada we currently are a place where anti vaxxers, outraged truckers, Conservatives, and malcontents feel vindicated, able to rage and work up the craziness.
