Bless the Lord, O my soul - 

The Lord Jesus identified one commandment as "The Great and First Commandment":  Love the Lord your God with all your Heart, all your Soul, and all your Mind.  (Matthew 22:37-38)  

Commandments are not merely suggestions or guidelines... they are requirements, mandates, rules, laws.  And, commandments (laws) always have associated judgments and penalties for those who fail to adhere to the authority of the One in command.  

Sadly, our culture today has rejected the authority of Sovereign God. Society mocks the patience of The Almighty who "is not willing that any should perish" (2 Peter 3:9).  Even the "church" has replaced the commandments of God's Word with traditions and watered-down doctrines designed to keep the pews full... making a mockery of the One she claims to follow.

Henry Blackaby, in his book "A God-Centered Church", stated:
"To lose the fear of God is to lose the fear of sin. To lose the fear of sin is to lose our relationship with God. Don't let anybody tell you that "to fear the Lord" just means to have an "awe" of Him. It means far more than that." 

God is Holy, God is Majesty,  God is Worthy of ALL my Heart, Soul, and Mind.  To offer anything less to Our Father in Heaven and the Lord Jesus Christ is to blaspheme His Name.

But, as for me and my house, we will Bless the Lord... we will Sing like never before... and we will Worship His Holy Name.
