How to use a Smudge pot waste oil heater at sawmill

This video is to show you our Smudge Pot Waste Oil Heater at the sawmill. In our area the smudge pot was used for years as fruit/nut orchard heater during the cold winter months, lit on cold and freezing nights to create a warm air blanket over the orchard trees to prevent damage to the trees from the freezing temps. We use our smudge pot, sometimes called a smuggy or orchard heater to create a little bit of heat around the sawmill on cold days while we are running the sawmills. Many people also use them as camping heaters. The smudge pot is a multi fuel heater that will operate on waste oil, veggie oil, diesel fuel and even kerosene. This video shows how to operate, lite and put out a smudge pot. Such a great oil burning heater to have around the sawmill!

Whether you are running a sawmill on your homestead, farm, ranch or as a business, it is so rewarding to be able to recover and salvage urban logs and process them into usable things such as tables & chairs or any number of other custom wood furniture pieces!

Slabbing, cookie cuts, or dimensional lumber... Small scale custom sawmills can be so useful in so many ways!!! And we are happy to share our adventures in saw milling and custom woodworking here with you all. We made this video to show that there are lots of uses for a Wood-Mizer Sawmill other than just sawing lumber. We currently have a WoodMizer LX250 Wide sawmill, a WoodMizer LT40 Super Hydraulic, a Lucas 10/30 Swing mill with slabber and planer and also a Lucas DSM23 Dedicated Slabber.

i mix all my old auto fluids, trans oil, diff oil, brake fluid, engine oil, and then dilute that with 50% diesel, cheap free heat works amazing

I have one, I use it alot . It came half full if charcoal. I only use diesel in it though. It didn't come with a wick so I just use a paper towel . I gonna try the oil mix though

just wondering if you have picked up a Pellet Press, all that saw dust is money you are throwing away if you have not. Pellet stoves users pay well for bags of pellets around here.
