EDIT: There's a couple of people commenting on how Glaze and Nightshade apparently "don't work". Why are you trying to convince us to not use these programs if they don't work? Why are people trying their hardest to unglaze artworks if Glaze doesn't work? Yes, Glaze it not the final solution, I've said as much in the video. But just because these programs aren't perfect doesn't mean we should disregard them. Plus, the Team is actively learning from attacks and improving the programs. For the time being, until there are laws put in place to protect artists, use these tools!

ℹ️ℹ️ℹ️ FAQ: You guys have been writing a lot of comments and I try to respond to them, especially if there's misconceptions, but I'm gonna collect them here so I don't have to type it out every time.

Q: What about noise/"AI Disturbance" filters you can just paste onto your drawing?
A: They don't do much. It can be undone by filters and even if it isn't, all it would do is teach the AI to add some texture to the generated art which many artists do as well. Glaze and Nightshade work on multiple layers which humans don't see. The visual artifacts aren't all the changes made.

Q: Why go through all the trouble instead of waiting for legal action?
A: We don't know when or how this will happen so I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Random tip:

Hate art stealers? Me too! Here’s how to stop stealers from coving your watermark :

1. Add a layer of noise
2. Use blending mode ‘overlay’ and lower opacity

Now, when they colour drop your drawing, they won’t be able to get the exact, correct colour.

I use glaze for all of my art work. It's absolutely super noticeable in my style LoL But like you said, I'd rather have that than AI taking my work away from me. I still hope that this AI stuff is just a craze and will become like NFTs

As artist we should band together and from now on draw all of our characters with 7 fingers, 6 eyes, 3 leggs, 4 eyebrows, and any other crazy stuff we can come up with so AI doesn't even know what a drawing of a person should look like anymore.

I kinda hope that all artwork posted publically online going forward will be glazed/nightshaded.
Yeah, there will be artifacts, but if you're an artist taking commisions and stuff, the publically available stuff is basically samples. So it's reasonable to have it be a bit lower quality. If people want to see high quality art without the artifacts, it's reasonable to expect them paying for access to it.

I haven’t posted my art online for years, and now that I’m ready to put my art out there again, this awful ai situation makes it feel like it’s too dangerous to put my art anywhere it can be stolen. Hmm- I'm wondering if I should use this. My art isn't super rendered and has large areas of flat color so it'd probably look pretty bad. I also only post to tumblr, and while they did seem to integrate some AI thing, they do have an option to opt out which I chose. I don't think anyone is training on my art because I'm very small... at the same time, i want to be careful, but if it worth the artifacting... hmm.. either way, these are useful tools.
