Good review M-- this would be great for some of my motorcycle maintenance projects when I'm working under the bike, where typically I do not have a lot of room for a standard tripod. I've used various objects to prop my cameras at the right angle, but it looks like this would take care of that... thanks for posting!

What is the advantage of this head? I honestly cannot think of one application that your three way tripod head or your ballhead can't do. At almost a 160 dollars, It is five times the price of a small pocket tripod like the one Manfrotto makes. And this one only works on a flat surface.

I loved your review and just saw the ad here on youtube. Can you please expand on this review to show how balanced and imbalanced this is with say a 24-105 lens? I feel it is easily  balanced with small prime lenses, but would be a mess with anything larger. Thus I'm hesitant to buy.
