'It was a good day for democracy': Biden says Democrats had strong night in midterms | FULL

U.S. President Joe Biden remarked on Wednesday about the results of the 2022 midterms, saying it was a "good day for democracy." He said while some Democrats did not win re-election, he felt it was still a strong night for his party, adding that his administration saw fewer seats lost in the House Representatives than any previous Democratic president's first midterm election in the last 40 years.
Biden said that based on the results so far his party has lost "very few seats" and there is a "possibility" of keeping the chamber. However, he said he would speak with Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy regardless of the result, adding that if the party investigates his family, including Hunter Biden's business dealings, he'll remain focused on "getting things done for Americans."
He also appeared to signal that he still plans to run for re-election in 2022. Biden said he and his family will likely make the judgment on whether to run in early 2023.
The U.S. House is still undetermined, with each party having flipped seats but several yet to be called. The Senate is hinging on results in Arizona, Nevada and Georgia, with the latter heading to a runoff in December due to its election rules. If Republicans win both Arizona and Nevada, they would need Georgia to take control of the Senate, however if they lose even one of the two remaining states, the Peace State would determine control. Democrats, however, would not need a win in Georgia if they win in the other two states, but a win in all three would make passing some legislation and confirming judicial and cabinet nominees much easier.
