Coming from Iranians, this gesture is even more meaningful. Let's never forget that Iran was well on its way to becoming the most Western-friendly and modern country in the Middle East before the US government screwed them over with the Shah.

If any country has a right to resent us, it's definitely them. We practically handed their country over to the totalitarian psychos that rule them now.
