This idea of a ""soul mate"" has caused millions of people to go on a quest to find ""the one,"" and the definition of ""the one"" is usually someone who likes what we like, hates what we hate, and who is fully devoted to making me happy. This idea of a soul mate being someone who is essentially us in the opposite gender has also caused people to end relationships at the first sign of difficulty because, if they're your soul mate, shouldn't they agree with you on everything at all times?
