Maybe I'm just too picky for the things I'm looking for but I've been in my apartment for three months and I'm still trying to furnish it.

This is my favorite type of video!! It's fun watching you digging through the treasures for the perfect item. Hope to see more, and see you buy some furniture.

I love how accurate this video is because thrifting around southern Maine is hard! I love the goodwill by the Maine mall for furniture and the goodwill outlet in Gorham. Sopo is great overall too! Also been to a good one on the border in NH, plus no sales tax 😂

Try Nestled on Cottage in South Portland, and also Cherished Possessions in Portland. Both have lovely things at reasonable prices.

There is something about striking out at the thrift stores that feels so deep, lol!! I'm never disappointed at a retail store but Goodwill? Oh the disappointment!!

They are called candlesticks. And I do like the pair of candlesticks you found. I love brass candlesticks! Thank you for sharing 😊

Tip #1 - always have cash when thrifting, flea market & yard sales. I take various amounts, distributed in different pockets. Big bills, in purse, $5's in front left pocket, 1's in right pocket. It's easier to haggle when you have cash. If you haggle down to a 5 you don't want to pull out a 10 and ask for change. If someone wants $7, you can pull out a $5 and say this is what I have, many times they accept it.
Tip #2 - measurements - I have all my measurements on 3 x5 cards, rooms, windows, furniture pieces. I have a few cards with color swatches.
Tip #3 - even if it's in an antique shop, with a sticker, you can ask, is this the best you can do for this piece? If it's $400, offer $300, you never know, if it's been there awhile or they paid less and still can make a profit, they might accept it. Always be polite and respectful.

Did you go to the Kennebunk restore or Portland?
I got so excited when you went to the Arundal flea market/antique store- I love that place!
