Robert & Bindi Irwin showcase their wildest animals at Australia Zoo.

Fat Boy the Komodo Dragon is one of the scarier animals at Australia Zoo despite this Bindi has some good memories of him with her Dad when she was little. Komodo Dragons like Fatboy have a Dangerous bite with sixteen different types of bacteria in it. They are also great swimmers which helps them get around the islands where they live. They are definitely not good pets and would not be popular with the family dog.

I've always loved Komodo Dragons as a little girl. Their mouth's bacteria are wicked awful! And, they're romantic to their mates, too! Even giving each other little back massages. They also eat young komodo dragons, so the young ones actually run up trees for shelter, until they're too big and too old to do so. They're neat!

It never ceases to amaze me how different reptilian predators look when seen thru Bindi's eyes. They become beautiful and good at what nature has made them rather than monsters, something to cherish and keep a place for.in the world.
Bindi's story offers a real insight into the amount of loving self control it takes to bring up a child without fear. Years ago I heard what Steve said about loving animals but watching Bindi practice her father's teaching has made me truly understand his message.
