Businesses consider post-Brexit impact amid wait for new trade deal

For businesses, it's all a waiting game. Meanwhile, the uncertainty continues.

As giant lorry parks are constructed in Kent, local hauliers still don't know what paperwork they will need to be able to operate in Europe after the end of the year - despite the government setting up 45 information and advice sites to help them prepare.

And they're not alone: there are still a host of unanswered questions about the future, just 24 days before the Brexit transition period ends.

They all seem to think that a deal will keep the current arrangements working as is 😱

9:41 Twisting the truth as usual.
45% of our exports go to the EU, and only 15% to the USA.

8:00 What the UK expects from the EU is ridiculous. You can’t trade goods with the EU without abiding by the same rules every member is abiding by. If you could, there would be no EU. Thinking that the EU will agree to destroy itself for Britain is delusional. UK needs some time with wto rules to appreciate the “benefits” 🙄

The academics are waiting. There has never been an example like it of a major economy literally putting up new barriers to trade like the UK will soon do and all by its own choice. At least someone will get something out of Brexit.

That Transport Secretary has a wicked sense of black humour.
Incompetence and gross negligence since 2016. Cheers Cameron, May and Boris.

🤣 “so it’s Frances fault” “it normally is”
OMFG to all my UK friends, how can you elect this guy

It’s Frances fault that the UK voted to leave the EU, it’s Frances fault that the UK hasn’t prepared for the reality of not being part of the EU, it’s Frances fault that the UK only recently started working on the software and infrastructure needed for no longer being part of the single market of the EU. It’s Frances fault that Boris is stupid enough to think that he can get the keys to EU club without paying the membership fees and following the rules. Well we always new that the UK would blame the French or the Germans or Spain, depending on who which country would be easiest to blame.

What is Mr.Bone saying? What is wrong with these people?? “Well if we don’t get a deal, we’ll just go for WTO..” You have virtually know deals and you essentially have to have some in about three weeks time! Why? Because trade with EU outside of a deal will destroy the UK!!!!

Oh that old already so often debunked story "we wanted just a Canada trade deal." Blimey.
