A psychologist friend told me that if I want to know who gives the best advice on Youtube, to keep a a very close watch on their face and body language. He gave me five things to look for:
1) When making an important point, they look directly into the camera
2) They lean forward slightly when they are being really sincere and confiding
3) They get excited by what they are saying
4) They move around in their seat rather than sitting rigid
5) They can't stop moving their hands when they're emphasising something.
I watched 5 different Youtube channels who did 2, 3 or 4 of those things. I then watched yours and you do all 5!
My friend now tells people to watch your channel and says to his students "Do you see how its like he's having a personal conversation with you?"

HURRAH for Kobo/Rakuten!!! I've taken up trying to search for books there first, before KDP, to support the indie version. 😍💗😍

Would you say that these platforms are friendly to low content and no content? Or are you referring to self-publishing only? I ask because I have a self-published book on KDP and I'm just getting into low and no content. Thanks!

Amazon KDP terminated my account because they claimed that I was manipulating KDP services. I don't even know what I did to manipulate their services. There was no clear information for what I was doing wrong and when I asked I was told that they don't have the information to be able to explain and reserve the right to cancel the account. Felt bad but I have to press on. Thank you for this information.

Wow Dale! Another great video. Finally, I've accepted that my amazon KDP account will not get reinstated. So, I've decided to have a look at alternative options. It seems like Lulu is a great place to start! I'm planning to use my own ISBN for all books I'll create. I've read it at a couple of places but I just want to make sure that if I use my own ISBN, I can publish this book on other platforms as well. Is that correct?

I'm gonna keep to the three companies. Lulu, Amazon, and D2D. I'm gonna follow through my plan and when it's complete I'm gonna republish all those books through all those companies or most.

yeah dialogue tags and too many sentences when it could be one and my grammar is atrocious so every time i give my work to my editor I hope prowriting aid makes his job easier but also trying not to be to concern about my voice and be okay if a sentence is generic.

I thought I heard something about D2D's paperback version requiring permission...oh, a pulse. OK, I hope I have that! Will get that on the calendar for my next book!! :D

This is sooo helpful!! I used to sell notebooks from lulu and blurb (i shipped them myself) and looking to switch to POD and have them ship for me. I worry about how long it takes to print i heard lulu takes 2+ weeks.
They each have unique differences and sizes which is why i used both. Looking to print samples from KDP soon to see which one to stay with or test all 3 (with different product, not duplicate) but im wondering how easy it is to switch the same book to a different publisher. Like go from kdp to lulu or from blurb to kdp. Especially if using their isbn… this is keeping me stuck and afraid to publish at all.

Wow. Your content is amazing I've been learning a lot. I'm not quite yet ready for publishing but question, can I apply any of these self publishers to a comic book/Graphic Novel? Or that's a different story?... great channel men! 🤝

KDP are now saving blue whales and the entire planet by NOT including packaging in large boxes of books. Every box of KDP books I have received over the last six months or so has been unsaleable. In three instances the boxes were crushed and one was exploded open. The books were loose and so badly scuffed and rubbed the covers were rendered useless and I had to return the books. I understand they are put back on the shelf in that condition and sold to your customers who order directly from Amazon. KDP now do hardbacks and it is a crying shame when they turn up and are unusable. I now use Draft2Digital for paperbacks - but D2D don't do hardbacks. D2D packaing and delivery is outstanding. They make KDP look like rank amateurs. Paperback books from D2D are always superbly packed with internal packaging. The boxes arrive as tight as a drum - a solid unit. The books inside are in MINT condition.
