Overland Builds and Gear at SEMA 2022

First stop at SEMA 2022 was the Overland Experience in the West Hall. I was definitely overlanding at this point... I'd flown in to Vegas, was staying at a hotel, and had ridden in a Tesla to get to the Las Vegas Convention Center. If you couldn't make it to Vegas, you can still experience overlanding through this video, where I show you the best builds and products debuting at the show.

Because this is the internet, someone will think I'm being serious. It's a joke.

Thank you Rob for coming by the booth, we appreciate you talking with us and featuring us on the channel. Always good to see you out at the shows doing your work. Have a save new year, and lets plan a few nights next year around the show season for some exploring and camping together. Cheers!

I like your video style and genuine responses and opinions. Refreshing that the creator isn’t bought and paid for and can give their honest opinions in the comment section 🤙

... the rest of the world (ie. Normal people) ..."I'm running plastic totes secured in the truck bed with rachet straps. I store my extra water and fuel in regular ol' 5-gallon cans. Here I have a Coleman cooler for keeping things cold. All sourced from Walmart unless I get really fancy and go to Academy. There are scratches, dents, and dirt from me getting out in the woods doing stuff all the time." 😀
Edit: I do appreciate the video and the channel. It's great that there are so many options out there but my goodness it's a bit overwhelming.

Lav mics - YES! Thank you for using lav mics. The SEMA videos with horrible audio have gotten so old, its nice to watch one that actually has decent audio. Also appreciate your honest review of the show overall. It feels overwhelming just after watching your video, I can only imagine how overwhelming it would be in person. Thanks for putting the time and effort for the video.

Wish you showed and talked about the three Toyota's from Australia built by Patriot Campers. They were by far more of a detailed build.

Overlanding is getting nuts. 5 years ago it used to be rooftop tents and fridges now it's mobile expedition stations. I starting to remind me of people who wear 500$ hiking backbacks walking around in the city.

It’s ok havin all the bells an whistles so when the truck can’t go on or the drive runs out of talent an bottle they can have a rest until help comes.
The most important thing about the rigs are the drive line an power. Then you can have all the bangles an baubles you can fit on.

I was an early adopter of @americanadventurelab spent a ton of money with their company and after they let me down on their high line lights, I will likely never support them again, they make some cool stuff, tout being a veteran owned American company, yet don't stand behind deficiencies when its inconvenient for them. As a combat veteran I love to support fellow vets, but apparently with these guys they think it's a one-way street. Specifically, after having to warranty 8-month-old lights that stopped working, the exact same issue occurred, and they don't warranty their replacements as if I was out of warranty off the original set. Totally trash considering these lights lasted maybe 6 months before rendering themselves useless. Just a warning to future AAL consumers.

Lots of nice stuff but it has become a princess show of off-roading for the most part not all... I have more fun with the most basic 4×4 rig without adding all this over the top stuff. I've gone to more places from The U.S. all the way down to South America with as little as possible...

Damn shame you can't buy most of these things. Just try to order a Four Wheel camper. LOL. They'll get back to you in two years.

why can't SUVs equipped with suspension lift kits have the same lift height both at the front & back . . . for e.g. a 3.0 in. suspension lift both front & aft of the SUV instead of 3.0 in. lift on the front axle & 4.0 in lift on the rear axle . . . . please advise . . .
