I made colourful stir-fry Noodles and Purple Soup for Lunch with Purple Cabbages! | Traditional Me

Walking early in the morning in this cold weather and witnessing the purple cabbage fields is truly an exciting form of emotional therapy. The cold dew droplets spraying all around as the cabbages are being harvested send delightful shivers down your spine. It is a heartwarming and joyous experience to see the beautiful purple colour emerging from the cabbages when removing the mature leaves from each one.
After harvesting the purple cabbages early in the morning from the field, I attended to the household chores, planning to take a bath afterwards. Once I finished my bath, I noticed that time had flown by, and it was almost lunchtime. I started thinking about a quick lunch that didn't involve making rice and curry. The only idea that came to mind was noodles. Even my grandmother loves to eat noodles. Usually for my prawns noodles, I don't add anything extra to flavour the noodles, as they are boiled in the water from the prawns, which adds rich flavours. However, as a home-cook, I believe that extra attention should be given not only to the dish's flavour but also to its presentation and nutritional value. With this in mind, I prepared the noodles by mixing in slices of lotus root, purple cabbage, thinly cut carrot, bell pepper, and winged beans. I added the purple cabbage last, as it tends to lose its colour and flavour if cooked for too long. The cabbages retained their perfect dark purple colour after being steamed.
Though I originally planned to make just a simple and quick one-course meal, I couldn't resist my brother's enthusiastic request. He had recently decided to lose weight after hearing comments about his gaining a few pounds. To accommodate him, I prepared my potato soup using a couple of small potatoes. The potatoes are essential to the soup; otherwise, it wouldn’t be filling, and he would undoubtedly complaining about being hungry soon after. In addition to the boiled and mashed potatoes, the purple cabbage added a beautiful colour to the soup. My brother genuinely enjoyed it, but despite his intentions, he didn’t stick to his diet that day and decided to postpone it until the next day. It was clear he couldn't resist the enticing aroma of the prawns coming from the lunch table. Knowing his tendencies, I made extra noodles to prepare for his cravings. I believe that many older sisters who care about their younger brothers share similar sentiments. If I can keep everyone at home happy and satisfied, there is nothing more I want in life; it brings me immense joy and fulfilment.
Love you All!
