AI was probably the biggest victim to NBA politics of his time. Jordan Kobe had some critisism too but they both got so much love from the league and the press. Not many people can relate to that. But AI was punished and stomped to the ground every step of the way. He said to hell with that I'm gonna be who I am to the fullest. He represented people who were oppressed and ostracized in their personal life, that goes way beyond basketball. And that's why he's got so much love from fans.

It's funny how they would say how great of a scorer he was for his size, how great he was with steals and compare his stats with only Jordan and sometimes say he was the most unstoppable player of his time but never have him in the conversation when talking about the next great 2 guard after Jordan!! 4 time scoring champ and the other times second before going to Denver! And the times he was second it was in his early years! 4 times steal leader and the most in a playoff game with 10!! Second in playoffs points average behind Jordan and would have passed Mike if the NBA didn't fuck him over
