How to Make Easy DIY Coasters ~ DIY Woodworking

In this video I show you how I made a set of easy DIY wood coasters from some hardwood scrap. It is a quick project that makes a perfect gift for friends and family.👇 Links to tools/materials below👇

The coasters are made from 4 different types of wood. Oak, Walnut, Sapele and an unknown species which I think might be Idigbo - please let me know in the comments if you recognise it.

BUILD PROCESS
Each wood is cut into strips, glued together and then cut into 100mm squares before having a bevel put on the edges. After sanding and applying OSMO finish they are done!

I love how simple these are. That was a brilliant idea to avoid snipe with the planner! I am definitely going to steal that the next time I use it. I just made a set of coasters for the first time, I'm happy with how they came out, just not sure how I want to finish them yet.

Is the OSMO heat resistant? I want to make some coasters for some ardent coffee drinkers but unsure if they will get marked by heat - appreciate any kind of heads up!
