Something more people should be pointing out… the Tolkien estate sold the rights to Tolkien’s masterpiece for a massive billfold… they sold their souls and threw Tolkien under the bus to get even richer.
That’s the real story here. The Tolkien estate itself needs new management.

I agree. Telling the story of the forging of the Rings of Power is a privilege and responsibility, and I hope that one day someone manages to do it.

It's their money to burn, but If I were Amazon, I would pull the plug after Season 2. Is it really worth +400 million per season? That's even more than most Disney movie budgets. It's even being shown that super-high budgets are really resulting in diminishing returns when it comes to the quality of a show.

The baffling thing to grasp for me isn't that the show is dreadful or that it won't be cancelled, but i am surprised that no change in direction is even being attempted in-between seasons. Even if both showrunners are now replaced i suspect too much damage has been done with this shows plot to ever be salvaged in a coherent way, there is just far too much inconsistent mystery box nonsense.

It is inherently un-Tolkien so it is a failure from the beginning. It is just “The Message” wearing a skin suit. In that sense, it is a complete success at being garbage.

I love how they made Sauron beg a dozen orcs to help him like he’s a bad tech salesman, when he’s the Middle Earth equivalent of the Anti-Christ, after his master Morgoth as Lucifer.
