What you need is a gouache 'leg' day like at the gym: Take a specific day/time out of the week to explore it and build it slow over time. Or opposite version- if you delve into gouache more all at once make sure to give yourself a watercolor day and save your frustrations and other watercolor ideas for that day specifically.

I actually lovved the gouche painting! I love how color patches sync together. I sometimes use mix media and practice will help with it.

I would say do a little of both, it’s what I do with my art, I’m always changing mediums and styles depending on what I feel like doing

My recommendation is to switch between mediums everyday. One day with Guache, next day with watercolor and ink.

Maybe you should use both in your next art piece.

You could also alternate between the two, or do what you did here again and do the same painting in both mediums, but maybe spice it up a little by changing the theme or mood of the art in the second one.

I personally think watercolors are a much more beautiful medium. I just love how unpredictable the patterns are when painting with them.
