I call bullshit. There is never a shortage of gasoline. But there is always a shortage of profits. Use to say gas is going up in Florida because of a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico but we didn't get our gas from the Gulf of Mexico. It was being produced in Argentina at the time which a long way away from the hurricane. But even still, gas prices would climb quickly a week before the storm went into the Gulf of Mexico, kept climbing for the two days it was there and stayed high, if not went higher, for 6 to 12 weeks after.

the increase in price is only transitory. It will eventually go back down. Just like inflation.
