🔥 Ready to master 360 video creation?

A lot of people have been asking how the new Gear 360 compares to the old one, so I figured it was time for a good old-fashioned 360 VIDEO SHOWDOWN. Spoiler: It's a surprisingly close battle, but one of them definitely reigns supreme!

thanks for this. sound is disappointing in the 2017 model :/ but looking at this zoom mic that takes spherical audio, so soon it won't be an issue for me. How is battery life on the new compared to the old?

thanks for the comparison! for some reason, the sharpness of image and sound seem better on 2016 than 2017...is it just me? altho i think 2016 dont have the live function which is an important factor.

Super review 🔥 👍

Ps: to me the sound 🔊 from the 2016 sounds warmer, the 2017 sounds very clear and crisp

Solid video. I love how it just took me 20 minutes to watch a 6 minute video because I had to keep going back to see different angles. :D

Thank you for the test! At minute 2:13 how did you made that effect of placing the 2d video screen on top of the 360 vid? You just drop the video in Premiere Pro? Thanks

Does it look sharper on a VR headset?! Because it looks ok on mobile but on a 13 inch laptop ig doesn’t look good at all

very usefull video Ben! Congrats. I keep my opinion: New Gear 360 didnt go too much far from the old one. so i think is better wait for new 360 cam this year.. maybe some 6k cam (or the expensive insta360) . Nice video again, congrats.

Hello mate. Thanks for the video and keep them coming. I have an interesting question. I'm thinking about the idea of using 360 for theatre/360 short films, and having actors play a scene and putting the audience in an appropriate centre of the action (like Hitchcock's 'Rope' but in 360). Do you know anyone who's tried that? From your video, I assume two problems: First is a logistical nightmare of having all the actors wear lapel/radio mics and mixing later (fewer actors, the better?) Second is the exposure issue of front and back camera. Would the exposure issue would be less of a problem indoors? Would it be better to control the light by shooting indoors at night, so that all light sources are controlled and thus balanced with each other? Your thoughts would be really appreciated. Cheers!
