The Shortages Are Reaching A Crisis Point

In today's video we're going to be looking into the concerning developments that this Christmas could be one of the worst in over 40 years due to a perfect storm in supply chain breakdowns & staff shortages.

I'll be going into all of this and making recommendations of which products you need to buy and ASAP, before they're all sold out.

The Christmas festive period is one of the most celebrated holidays of the year in the Western World. It’s a time for families and friends to come together, for grown-ups to spoil the kids, and it serves as a period of both celebration and reflection for many of us.

Last year, Christmas celebrations were not great for most of us as most countries and households were locked down so we couldn’t see our families and friends.

Last year, most people could create the illusion of a typical Christmas because most of the usual products associated with the holiday season were still available – Christmas trees, decorations, traditional Christmas food, and a wide range of toys and gifts. The only thing missing last year was the most important, open churches & our loved ones to share the holiday with

In 2020, you could have all the Christmas trimmings but no one to celebrate with. This year, you will have lots of people to celebrate with, but none of the things that make Christmas, Christmas - due to extreme global shortages and disruptions to the supply chain and distribution networks.

The global supply chain is still in crisis:

If you’re not aware, from the onset of the pandemic, supply chains around the world were severely disrupted & there’s still no end in sight. If anything, it’s getting worse.

Industry figures said the costs of securing a container had risen by between 1,000%-1,500% over the last year. Shipping a 40-foot container from China to the UK costs about $1,500-$1,700, but today costs as much as $20k.

Turkey shortages:

There are fears Brits may have to go Cold Turkey this Christmas if supply chain issues continue. Because the poultry industry is at crisis point. Only a few days ago, I witnessed this with my own eyes at my local supermarket with a depleted poultry section.

Other Christmas food shortages:

Turkeys and chickens
Beef
Lamb
Ham, gammon and other pork products
Pigs in blankets
Seasonal vegetables
Cranberries

One retailer, Balsam Hill, has already seen sales of artificial Christmas trees up by 73% in August compared to last year. Visitors to their website have risen by 145%, with searches for Christmas trees booming. Trees and decorations are being snapped up every week that supply comes in.

In the US, the Christmas tree shortage is also causing problems for local vendors, and that could affect this year’s selection and prices.

Vendors in the Midwest are now looking for new sources to get their trees, some have gone all the way to Canada to source trees. But even with vendors getting trees from new places, buyers must expect to see less inventory than previous years.

Some of the toys and other products estimated to be in short supply include:

L.O.L. Surprise! Dolls
Paw Patrol vehicles
Little Tikes toys
Peppa Pig, Harry Potter, Star Wars and other popular licensed toy brands
Fidget popper stress relievers
General consumer gift items
Games consoles
Computers, laptops, and tablets
Household electronics
Garden furniture

Finally a Christmas of my dreams, no silly gift buying, no putting on weight, no stress, Happy Christmas everyone ;-)

In all honesty if people have a more basic Christmas with simple food and drink with friend and family they'll probably enjoy it more, rather than all the stress of buying crap that people don't want.

I actually prefer a world in which friends and family are more important than gifts and turkey and new clothes.

Welcome to the new reality. We in the west are about to learn what life is like for much of the world.

Well, call me scrooge, but if people don't get a gazillion toys, gifts, clothes etc for Christmas, it isn't exactly the worst thing that can happen. We have a lot more important issues to worry about.

My girlfriend is a hard-core prepper and her family is getting food gifts this year. And she also does a whole lot of canning and dehydrating.

The paradigm has changed. We don't need items/crap to exist. We need food, shelter, family connection, purpose, contentment, simplicity. Back to reality.

I think that EVERYONE can agree that food and security is more important than gift giving.

Maybe start getting back to hand crafted gifts made with love and thought put into them.

What is destroying our quality of life. Government.

I recall that in the old Soviet Union the G.U.M. stores were virtually empty but that the elite, the "nomenklatura" could still enjoy the Ballet. Our own elites today seem to be of a similar mind-set.

I haven't bought a "Christmas present" in YEARS. Minimalism is where it's at!! They can keep their money and their stuff. Many of us are just checking out, and not at the store. 😆

Support your local businesses, self employed businesses, craft fairs, mom and pops stores if possible!

This year, take the opportunity to really realize what Christmas is all about, celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. It isn't about the gifts. Make your gifts this year. Just be together as a family. You dont even need a turkey or a ham! Make a new tradition!! God bless! ❤

The last few generations are so gorged with materialism. We need a few lean Christmas holidays to get back to reality. The Lord, family, church, community.

So if we manage to consume less, don't buy gifts and don't spend, we can help the logistic catch up. Flatten the logistic curve everyone!

We got the kids their gifts a couple of months ago knowing this was coming. Family decided no gift giving this year we are going to spend time together visiting, have a nice meal and play some family games and just enjoy each others company.

This is showing us that half the things we buy, we don’t need. It’s also teaching us to save, and to use what we have. This is good!

This year my kids need to learn to be happy that they have food in their belly and a roof over their head. And the ability to bathe and wash their clothes. There are going to be many hungry homeless children this Christmas.
I can't stand materialistic people. Everything man-made eventually breaks and ends up in the dump anyway ! Such a waste of money.

Chirstmas is one of the dumbest holidays ever. Loved it as a child but the older I get the more I realize its really just consumer driven BS.

I'm afraid all I will be able to afford this Christmas is the gift of my love. Going to jobless soon as I refuse to comply to the gift that my employer has bestowed upon me a mandated jab
