I am embarrassed to be an American right now. And, I am somewhat afraid to be an American right now. I want to become a mini-homesteader. A little late both time-wise right now, and due to our age. We can not go 100% self-sustained. We can not raise meat, or even have chickens, unless they change the zoning. I do not want to raise animals for food anyway. We have the ability to barter for those things with herbs I grow, knitting or crocheted or sewn items, and more. So my goal is for us to not freeze in sub zero temperatures, or run out of potable water. And those are very concerning things to resolve should the worst happens.
