Why You SHOULD Read the Bible in its Original Languages

If you're able to read the text in Hebrew, you will notice when you're reading different passages, you will see an overlap in vocabulary. And you'll see clusters of words that occur in two or three different places that you would not see in English. And that's actually what biblical writers want you to do. Check this out!

Absolutely correct!! Going to the original languages has broadened our understanding of scriptures in ways we did not and could not imagine. Also understanding that scriptures are written in a chiastic structure also helps put the bible in a new light for us. Thank you for sharing!!

And when we fail to use the Hebrew/Greek/Aramaic text to trace out meanings and connections along with CONTEXT, the end result is unfortunately false interpretation, and if you're in leadership, false doctrine altogether. I thank God for the Bible study technology we have at our disposal. At the very least, one should own a complete Bible dictionary with Hebrew/Greek words.

The elephant in the room is when the translators force their presuppositions on the reader. It is shocking to see how many times translators conveniently translate words to suit a theological agenda instead of consistently translating a Hebrew word. Sometimes a variation of the word (in English) is appropriate, but I’m amazed at how often the translators will use a word that connotes a totally different meaning. An example of the problem with this is when an Hebraism is lost, thereby destroying its actual meaning.

Understanding God's word begins with asking the Holy Spirit for Understanding (even through or from another translation standpoint). Although, it was written in another language, GOD still upholds the same meaning for ALL!!!

John 16:13 (KJV) Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

1 Corinthians 2:10-16 (KJV) But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

It's best to start with Koine Greek. As the Apostles had the OT in The Septagint - Kione Greek and the translation is a little different. That way you start out with the same translation they had then go to Hebrew. You start out being able to read the New Testament and Old! 😎

Hebrew is artistically designed to be the perfect language in which the Almighty communicated his beauty, majesty and depth do us. 🙌🙌🙌

Its so funny, today I discovered that the website I do my online school on actually teaches different languages. And one of them is Hebrew. I started on the very first lesson and this video popped up shortly after. Pretty cool.
By the way, I've literally been reading the Portent, and I finished the Facade earlier this month. I don't read a lot, but I find anything about sci-fi or the the supernatural really interesting. (This present darkness is a good read also) You've put so much into those books its just overwhelming at first. I start to wonder if there really is any fiction in there, besides the characters and story line, there's just so much.

This important abstract idea would be much enhanced with an actual example or two.

Hi, Dr. Michael Heiser? What do you think about the Peshitta Aramaic New Testament Bible?

For example the word Elohim just doesnt mean spiritual beings but also kings or judges (i.e. human rulers).

Reading it in Greek is much easier than reading it in Hebrew. On a related topic, the choice of fount for Greek & Hebrew is very important - by far the most attractive Greek fount IMO is that used in the 1954 British & Foreign Bible Society GNT, or that in the Trinitarian Bible Society GNT.

Today is the day we bend our knee's and pray. Now is the time to seek the Almighty divine. The hour is late the time is short, I suggest you get a good lawyer and prepare to go to court. Jesus is the best legal counsel you can get, he's also judge jury and executioner and dont you forget! He's offering us protection, guidance and Love, it cost him everything caused him such pain!
So let's honor him and remember to live is Christ and to die is our gain! So with no more adue stay hopeful and true and know that he gave his life for me and for you!

God Bless!
