My portfolio doesn’t just cater to dividend stocks. I hold $VFIAX (S&P 500 index fund) in my Roth IRA and $VTI (Total Stock Market ETF) in my taxable brokerage account. Two of my largest holdings. The individual dividend stock positions all complement the index holdings.

REITS our fine income vehicles. However they have a couple of flaws. First, as you mentioned as interest rates change, their share price also is impacteted, (So purchawe them when Interest rates are dropping. Second, they usually have to provide K1 Reports impacting both complexity of taxes and when theyt can be completed. Third, as you mentioned, some industry's REITs get impacted by changes in society. (I owned a basketof hotel REITS, and you can imagine what happened to them during Covid. ) So if you do purchase them, make sure you are following them, and dont use a "set and forget" mentality on them. But sometimes they are a great way to beat CDs and bonds to generatee income. BTW, I do like AMT, and dont know the storage one, but agree with your analysis.
