Finland has no post soviet buildings, cuz Finland was never a part of the Soviet union. Never a communist country and never an eastern bloc country.

Hi from Lahti, Finland. 4.20 the old buildings in the center of Helsinki were designed by the German architect Engel, built mostly between 1820 and 1840, because the Russians decided to move the capital from Turku to Helsinki.
In 1812 Russia moved the capital of the Grand Duchy of Finland from Turku to Helsinki. The Russians considered Turku too close to Sweden and its culture. Losing the status of capital city dealt a severe blow to Turku. However, the Great Fire of Turku in 1827 was even more devastating.

In Finland We have defense forces / military service, because our neighbour is Russia. Only Russia (and vikings before Finland was country) did attacked Finland. Finland have biggest artillery army in Europe and about top 5 in Earth. Russia will not attack us 99, 999 % sure, but we are ready if they arrive. If not have army (and not NATO), then it could be 1-50 % (guessing). To improve security We joined NATO.
That country he talked in the end is North Macedonia (in past Macedonia, but Greece made them change name because Greece have same name area. European Union thing too "blackmail" to change name so Greece let North Macedonia join EU).

There is no huge difference between Scandinavia and the nordic countries. Finland is partly located on the Scandinavian peninsula and the other Scandinavian countries are also Nordic countries.
Finland 🇫🇮 is a Nordic country culturally, politically, economically, religiously and geographically with Sweden 🇸🇪 Norway 🇸🇯 Denmark 🇩🇰 and Iceland 🇮🇸.
My foreign friends tell they see no difference. The only difference they see is that Finland has more ppl with blue eyes and blond hair.

I can be wrong, but I think that young men are forced to serve Finland trough military ore civil service for certain period of time just to ensure that everybody, every man can help to defend their fatherland. And to make sure, that there is always new generation of soldiers. Anyhow it is our duty and privilage to serve Finland and many of us are proud of that. It is huge part of a culture. However not every man must go to service. If there is health issues or militar service are looked to being bad for your health you can be freed from a duty to serve while era of peace.
