The 'you're late' and 'what do you mean?' is play on words (you can see Sue bug out a bit when Johnny says it). Being 'late' used to be used to describe a woman's missed period date. Generally the first sign that you are pregnant.

The comments the actors made recently made me skeptical about the movie. Hopefully it isn’t another modern movie, I just want an enjoyable superhero movie with some heartfelt character moments. Is that too much to ask? Praying it turns out decent.

I think the cosmic rays that empowers the F.F. and changes Franklin might just be the Power Cosmic that somehow is expelled by Galactus or his heralds and then makes its way to Earth. Galactus then tracks it down to Earth and plans on reclaiming it from Franklin.
