Lock him up and throw away the key. Michelle Duggar is just a baby maker who had her older daughters take care of the new babies. Michelle Duggar is not a role model for mothers. I am a mother of four children and I'm blessed to be a mother.

Coming from a family of 10 it's easy to get away with stealing snacks, breaking something accidentally but what he was doing to them is awfully hard to hide. Those girls would change drastically... so sad they didn't notice

Two things about this family really concerns me. Well, lots but these two really scare me. 1- Obviously Josh Dugger. He needed more help than they ever provided him. It could have been all different if they would have helped him when it all started.
2- blanket discipline? They wrap their little ones up in blankets or towels and just leave them in there as discipline. We had a case of abuse that ended in Murder here in Cincinnati where the foster parents did this and the little boy died of heat stroke. It was tragic beyond belief what that little boy went thru. I can’t imagine a loving parent doing the same thing and calling it loving discipline.
These people are not good Christians. They weren’t raised that way, they’re controlling narcissists that won’t let their children live their own lives. It’s so sad.

Now after Jill’s book, I understand why there was NEVER a courtship with any of the Bates kids. They may be in the same religion, but they practiced it way differently. The Bates encouraged ALL their children to further their education, and seek employment outside the home. Their children are more exposed the the outside world and can make decisions on situational issues using their upbringing to help navigate them correctly. Whereas the Duggar kids where shunned from the world and told things to keep them scared, NOT obedient, nor Godly for that matter. Seems like they were all taught: God, JB, IBLP, then Michelle.
