The Asus TUF Gaming A15 is the newer series, based on AMD Ryzen 7 4800H/ Ryzen 5 4600H hardware and similar GTX/RTX graphics. It's more affordable though, and gets a partially plastic construction, RGB keyboard, 144 Hz screen and larger battery.

Own the predator Helios 300, great laptop! Only thing I don’t like about it is how easily it picks up fingerprints

If display and thermal can be ignored, tuf would be better. Performs faster, and able to save battery better.

I'm surprised that there isn't a huge difference in operating temperatures between the two laptops. The Acer hitting 92 C vs 95 for the Asus on the CPU and 75 C vs 79 C for the GPU.

Hopefully you guys can find the 90Wh TUF A15 with the R5 4600H and GTX 1660Ti as well! The RTX 2060 version is a gaming and battery life beast at its current price but the R5 version could give even more bang for buck .

I own the predator 300. Super satisfied with that purchase. However, if I was buying one right now, I'd by the a15 1660ti for an extra $100. bigger hard drive, bigger batter, the screen doesnt bother me because I used it as a desktop replacement connected to a monitor, I only use the laptop screen when traveling.

The processor on the predator is i7-10750 and has been updated with the rtx 2060

cant beat the ASUS A15 with the AMD 4800h, it is a beast. Great price, performance and incredible battery life

For everyone that's interested in A15/17, also, if you have SVM enabled (which is very important for me, app development), screen flickering occurs, which is very annoying

The 2020 version of Acer Predator Helios comes with i7-10750H or i7-9750H. The one in video is old 2019 or older.

Everyone is talking about a15's poor lcd panel and ghosting issue and heating issue. Is it really so evident? I like this laptop since it's cheap, should i buy this considering am a casual gamer and full time programmer? Is battery life good in 45w version?
