Headspeed 1900 started with no stability then switched to to coaxial mode. Not sure I like that. Maybe good for learning your orientations? Paired with auto rescue it would be a bullet proof way to learn.

The "chirping" you heard at 2:52 and 3:07 when you lift your collective stick is either due to steep throttle curve (if using end-point throttle curves) or governor "hunting" if using a governor. It has nothing to do with the tail gears.

Your concerns about stripping the tail gears are valid (I assume this is an older Align helicopter with torque tube driven tail), but this is mainly a concern if the tail blades hit the grass/ground when landing with power. You are very unlikely to strip those tail gears from just hovering.
