I grew up in rural areas and had friends and family who were dairy farmers. My schools were literally surrounded by corn fields.

No one sh**ts their working dogs who are in excellent health and as young as 14 months. Not every dog makes a good working dog, and that’s fine. That’s when you turn them into your pet or give them to a family who wants them as a pet.

To me, it sounds like she failed at training her dog if she couldn’t keep Cricket under control at 14 months. If she wasn’t working out as a hunting dog, she would have made a fine pet for someone. Noem could have dropped her at a shelter or humane society. She could have asked neighbors or friends if they wanted to have her as a pet. She could have kept her as a non working pet dog. There are LOADS of options other than taking the poor thing to a gravel pit. Noem just didn’t want to put in the work, and we don’t need any more lazy a-holes in DC in charge of our government. Cricket deserved better.
