My father was staff manager of Selfridge's before WW2 under Gordon Selfridge, my cousin Walter was a doorman, and both my sister and I worked there as sales assistants. Both on the ground floor: she in cosmetics, while I sold gloves and hats. Meanwhile, mum was a senior sales assistant at Harrod's! A real department-store family. 😀

I got to visit London 5 years ago and only had time for Selfridge or Harrods and I picked Selfridges. I loved it much! Those little fruits that look like yellow tomatoes are persimmons, yum!

Hi Hannah, am so glad this video confirmed that I didn't "miss" anything when I was in London last month (mid-Sept), and didn't make a special trip to Selfridges. I agree with your thoughts at the end: Harrods food halls are far superior -- I couldn't stop taking pictures of things as I walked through, plunking myself down at their coffee bar for a cappuccino when I needed a break. The BEST part, tho', was later in the day, finding Harrods Champagne Bar where I grabbed a seat and had a glass of 2016 Moet and Chandon (= "lunch"!). Perfect ending to a day's worth of shopping. Can't wait to see your upcoming holiday videos -- they're always great fun. Cheers!

Good to go round Selfridges today. They have been in business in Oxford Street for nearly 170 years. I used to shop there in the 1950’s. Not the cheapest, but always realistic prices. Like your new coat Hannah.

@hannah tip for detoxing. Get yourself chard, or chicory, dandelion, or rocket. Wash, bring to the boil. When cooled down drink a small glass of liquid. Store in fridge for 3 days. As for the greens, a little bit of olive oil, salt to taste and lemon. Healthy detoxing meal.
A recipe from ancient greek times. Do this every week. Cheers kiddo!!!!

Manchester Tart. When I was school it was a pastry case with a layer of jam, then filled with a set custard finished with hundreds and thousands. Delicious. But I was in receipt of free school meals, so all food was delicious.
