1. Squeeze deck just below the top corners between the thumb and index finger.
2. Using your ring finger and/or pinky, apply pressure down and out to build up tension.
3. Release tension from the ring and/or pinky finger
and top card will fly out.
4. Catch card with offhand.
5. Practice makes perfect!
Additional notes:
6. It definitely helps to have a bit of moisture on your finger tips to get a better grip on the top card and to help build up tension.
7. Depending on whether you're using your ring finger pinky, or both to flick the top card off the deck, the finger position can vary slightly to get the card to shoot out straight. Practice and experimentation will be required to find the best position for you.
I prefer using just my ring finger to shoot the card out which requires me to place it closer to the middle of the deck while someone using just their pinky may place it all the way down near the bottom corner.
