Reba McEntire & ‘The Voice’ Winner Asher HaVon on Future Plans

Asher HaVon is this year’s winner of “The Voice!” The 31-year-old gospel singer was crowned champion for Season 25 on May 21 and is the first LGBTQIA+ winner. Speaking with Access Hollywood, alongside his coach Reba McEntire, Asher was feeling all the emotions. “I’ve been crying all the way up here and I may cry now. I can’t believe it – I really can’t believe it. I’m still soaking,” he said while Reba told Access that it feels “wonderful” to have her first win as coach with Asher. “I was thrilled to pieces for him,” she said. The rising star had taken two years off from singing but chose to go on the show because he felt that his “gift deserved the chance.” “Even though I may have given up on myself, my gift deserved the chance. So, I took that chance and when I saw Reba smile, I knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that’s my coach,” he elaborated. As Asher prepares for the next stage of his career, Reba said she’s “so proud” of how he’s “grown,” telling Access, “I am so proud of him because he's grown with confidence. And I love to be sitting there watching him sing, while I'm in the chair, and look down the row of all the other coaches and they're going, ‘He's the best vocalist.’” The legendary country singer continued to gush over Asher’s talents, telling him, “You're ready vocally. You're prepared psychologically. And America's ready for you. I think the world is ready for you!” she exclaimed. As to how he’ll celebrate his big win? By getting a good night’s rest! “I want to go to sleep! I want to go to bed!” Asher exclaimed.
