watch them run out of racial storylines and make a movie where vampires are an allegory for homophobia 💀

Imagine the writer's room pitching this movie.

"Ok, so what other aspects of a racial storyline have we not done poorly?"

"Immigration."

"Ok, which generic movie monster do we make a horrible allegory out of?"

"Immigration is about illegal aliens, right? So... Make them actual aliens from space and stuff."

"Fantastic! Here's the key to my house, you can have sex with my wife!"

After 3 movies, Addison is still acting like she’s oppressed.

Just realized every zombie's name starts with z, every werewolf name starts with w, and every alien starts with a.

If I had a nickel for everytime RuPaul did voice work for a Disney project, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

The problem with these extremely watered down portrayals of complex social issues is that a lot of the time the simplification leads them to be unintentionally tone deaf. A lot of the time, the allegory for the dominant group have a very viable reason to not want the allegory for the oppressed group in their society. The message goes from “We shouldn’t hate people because they’re different” to “We know this group of people are dangerous but we still shouldn’t question their integration because reasons”.

As a full Latino, living in Latinoamerica, Adisson saying she’s special cos she’s 1/4th alien reminded me when Twitter obsessed with that Disney movie “Encanto” and suddenly everyone was showing off their 1/8th latino heritage without knowing anything about culture/language (they literally said there are no white Latinos bruh) LOL

Anyways, great vid, as usual

The vampires would be an allegory for queer people, because they would be coming out of their coffins

Idk if Kei is gonna discuss this, but there's a scene in the credits where Bucky sneaks into the aliens' mothership (Voiced by RuPaul Charles of all people), saying that he's gonna "spread cheer to the farthest reaches of the galaxy", and then he just flies away inside of it... and I don't know if I'm overthinking this, but I don't think Bucky's gonna survive in the RuPaul mothership

Edit: I've gotten a few comments jokingly saying that Bucky's gonna come back a drag queen. And even though the idea of Bucky in drag is funny, what I'm saying is that there's no way Bucky can survive space travel or be able to use alien technology

You joked about trans mermaids, but there are types of fish that naturally undergo sex changes, so if any fantasy creature were to be trans, mermaids would make the most sense.

Don’t tell me: ZOMBIES 4 would’ve had Vampires (who, of course, all have names starting with V) and Addison immediately tries to throw herself into their culture while Bucky goes on about how much he hates vampires until the big dance number at the end. Bonus points if the story involves cheer and/or football somehow.

My favorite part of "Ain't No Doubt About It" is how occasionally they have a line where they acknowledge the crushing realization that their high school relationship isn't likely to survive after they graduate.

2 things about Addison in this movie:

1. In Alien Invasion while everyone else panics and looks terrified while she stares up in awe. Theen when Zed tries to snap her out of it they end up having a conversation about their relationship while the earth is shaking and the town is literally burning. She then says the line “We don’t even know what they came here to do” as a car explodes about 10 feet away from her. Like I get that her character is all accepting and whatnot but they are literally destroying your home.

2. It is really weird and suspicious how quickly she was convinced to leave her entire life behind for some aliens she’d met 2 days ago. After all that she would leave Zed, her parents and friends because she found out that she was only 25% alien. Idk I guess I didn’t expect this to be what she meant when she ravels on about in 3 songs about how she doesn’t fit in and needs to find her people.

Question: Addison couldn’t go with the aliens because she didn’t have enough stardust in her blood before her transformation, so she wouldn’t survive the journey. Bucky clearly doesn’t have any relation to the aliens, so he probably has even less than she did. Will he be okay?

Why do I feel like, after every movie wraps in production, the cast and crew pat themselves of the backs while saying “We did it guys, racism is no more.”

I actually thought the aliens were supposed to represent neurodivergent people, but I guess that was just the vibe. They make a far better botched representation of immigrants

Edit: upon further inspection if the aliens represented neurodivergence it would have far improved Addison’s presence, she never felt as though she had fit in and it would have been because neurodivergent people leave in a world not designed for them.

Honestly, my biggest gripe with the movie is that Addison is “the most precious thing in Seabrook”. Like, you’d think coming from her grandmother, that her MOM would be. I just find it strange that the grandmother would place these ever evolving coordinates in someone with a fraction of the blood deemed necessary for space travel. Sure, Addison awakened her powers soon after meeting the aliens (a bit randomly), but the grandmother wouldn’t know that. That, and why did they have to be placed in the “most precious thing”? As I was watching the movie, I thought for a little while that the coordinates would actually be in the cup, and that Addison WOULDN’T wind up being the center of everything for once. Fat chance of that happening

Overall though, I unironically enjoyed the movie
