The lens is nice, but it's price is insane. I've got a 9mm LAOWA f/2.8 prime for less than a 1/3 of the price. The 8-16mm is probably a better lens, but I'm sticking with my 9 mil. It focuses close too, it's small and light (1/4 weight of the 8-16) and has a filter thread.

Nice review Damien! I already have the older 10-24mm lens for 3 years now and i have borrowed this 8-16mm lens for a month and found that its a bit sharper, wider, more solidly built and its weather resistant but it lacks ois and is alot dearer plus its only upto the 16mm focal length as the 10-24mm has a longer 24mm length which it can be used to take portraits at the longer focal length. If anyone is interested in buying the fuji 8-16mm lens its best to buy it in the new year when Fujifilm gives you double cashback offer so you'll save at least 300 pounds. A wide angle lens i believe its a must have lens.

Excellent vid as usual 😊 I tried this lens on my X-H1 but in all honesty I find my XF10-24mm along with my Samyang 8mm f2.8 fisheye preferable.
