A nuclear-powered US submarine has hit an unidentified object in the Indo-Pacific region. The US Navy said that USS Connecticut has hit an object while being submerged in the disputed South China Sea. The Navy statement did not reveal how many of its soldiers were injured. But according to reports, some 15 crew members suffered minor injuries due to the collision. The US Navy said that there were no life-threatening injuries and that the submarine was in a safe and stable condition. The Navy officials added that the submarine’s nuclear propulsion plant and spaces were not affected and remained fully operational. The collision comes amid escalating tensions between China and the US in the region
