End of an ERA | The start to finish of the Famous TOYOTA AVALON

The Toyota Avalon, a replacement for the old Toyota Cressida, is finally at its own sunset, as it’s set to be replaced by the Toyota Crown. A full automotive cycle if you asked us, and a beautiful one at that.

The Toyota Avalon, named after a legendary island of the Arthurian legend, started out in the mid-nineties in the US market. The idea was to provide a bigger, roomier alternative to mid-sized sedans of that time and they excelled at it.

Over the course of five generations, it provided more space, more features and even a taste of luxury for the average Toyota owner.
By the late 90s, it made its appearance in the Nigerian market, and continued to thrive because it offered something Nigerians love more than anything; space. The most famous in recent times, the 2012-2017 model of the Toyota Avalon was nicknamed THE BOAT.

However, in 2022 Toyota announced its plans to discontinue the Avalon and replace it with the Toyota Crown, a painful but acceptable end.

Last of a dying breed. get it if you can, Toyota did a good job with the 4th gen but i think the 5th gen that carries the 8 speed "30 pin" transmission is a masterpiece. so more torque! great review motileke 👍

2013 to 2016 was a more aerodynamic car than the es350 although same chassis but had better grip and balance thus more fuel consumption, its not that much tho once you put it on eco mode, 23mpg city 28mph highway 20mpg combined
