Pi is the right constant EXCEPT for 1D. C=2pi.r is not long enough. Experiment with paper tape & cylinder gives C > 2pi.r. It'hard to meet pi. Or try small angle calculations with big radius scale. The curve lines are so Powerful against surrounding straight lines.
